FCC 2: Leadership for Social and System Change

People and organizations are seeking new ways to be in relationship, strategize and organize in order to respond to the challenges of this political, social and cultural movement moment. The complexities of systemic racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia and more are driving the resurgence of social change efforts and social justice movements across cultural contexts.

Cost for FCC 2 is $1,200 per participant and includes workshop materials, breakfast and lunch each day.

In this powerful three day leadership retreat, we will wrestle with how to build transformational social change efforts that are:

  • intersectional

  • based on interdependence

  • strategic working across difference

Join us as we practice noticing, naming, framing and navigating across difference to create systemic transformational change we can bring to scale.

Using the Intercultural Development Continuum, the internationally recognized model used to guide intercultural competence development, and insights gained from social movement theory, together we’ll explore three important perspectives necessary for change: self-awareness, other awareness and social movement context.

This Retreat is for YOU if:

  • You are a leader in an organization or community navigating relationships, strategies and communications for change-making

  • You are invested in deepening your sense of connection to yourself and the lived experiences of other leaders

  • You wish you were more adept at talking openly and explicitly about how you experience, understand and lean into curiosity about other people and cultures

  • You are interested in adding intercultural development to your intersectional movement building toolbox

  • You want to learn models and skills to broaden and deepen your systemic impact

Space is intentionally limited, apply to be a participant of this dynamic training today.

Pre-Requisites for Participants

  • Each participant needs to apply to be part of this cohort experience. In order to maximize learning we are intentionally working to keep the group to around 30 people, representing a diverse cross section of race, gender and age so we can practice working in a mixed-culture group.

  • Each participant will take the IDI inventory (fee is included in the overall registration cost)

  • Each participant will be expected to complete approximately 2 hours of learning activities prior to the workshop so we can dive into the material together upon arrival

  • Attending FCC 1 in not a pre-requisite for attending FCC 2

For those of you traveling from outside the Twin Cities, please plan to arrive by the evening of Tuesday, April 30th. We will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1 and end by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3.

$1,200/participant includes IDI assessment and personalized profile, two and two-thirds days of training, three breakfasts, three lunches plus retreat materials.
